Student & Family Resources
Whether you’re new to our school or a longtime Carter Elementary School family, we want to provide the resources you need to achieve success.
This is a central hub for students and families to easily access information for navigating the school and school day, including enrollment, student handbooks, information about schedules, extra curricular activities, and more!

Enrollment
Carter Elementary School serves students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade.
Enrollment for students who are new to the district must be completed in person by a parent or legal guardian.

Daily Schedule
The standard school day begins at 7:45 a.m., but students may begin arriving on campus as early as 7:10 a.m. Upon arrival, students should report to the cafeteria for breakfast, and at 7:15 they can begin entering the gym. At 7:35 a.m., they are dismissed to their classrooms.
To be counted present for the day, children must attend school for at least 3.5 hours.
Dismissal begins at 2:45 p.m. with bus riders, followed by car rider pickup at 2:45 p.m. All students should be picked up by 3:15 p.m., unless they are participating in after-school programs or enrolled in Kid's Place, our on-site after-care program.

After School Care
Kid's Place is Carter Elementary's only on-site after-care provider, but there is another local after-school provider close by!

Extracurricular Activities
Carter Elementary offers several after-school and extracurricular opportunities. Through these clubs and leadership opportunities, students have the opportunity to expand their classroom learning, get to know peers with similar interests, and explore new skills.

Student Supports
At Carter Elementary, our dedicated staff is committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment where every student feels loved, supported, and safe. We believe that a strong foundation in social, emotional, and academic well-being is essential for lifelong success. Through compassion, encouragement, and high expectations, we work together to ensure every child knows they belong and has the tools they need to thrive—inside and outside the classroom.

Library / Media Center
The Carter Elementary School Library is a vibrant and inviting space where students discover the joy of reading and the wonder of books. It's more than just a library—it's a place where imaginations grow, curiosity is sparked, and a love for stories and learning comes to life. Whether exploring new adventures through fiction or learning fascinating facts from nonfiction, students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and develop a lifelong passion for reading.
Support Organization
The Carter Elementary PTO is a collaborative group of parents, teachers, and school staff who work together to support the school community. They organize events, fundraisers, and activities to enhance students' educational experiences and foster communication between parents and school staff.
